Obituary of Georgia Fugate

JoAn Fugate passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2016 after suffering a stroke. JoAn is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Grasmugg, Marci Shaver and Charmaine Foltz and grandchildren, Misti Simms, Jesse Foltz, Arthur Shaver and Josh Grasmugg. Born October 30, 1929 in southern Colorado at age 7, JoAn Everist moved to Saratoga, Wyoming with family. There she met and married Raymond Johnson in 1947. JoAn and Raymond had three daughters, mentioned above. They lived in multiple towns across Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana as Raymond operated a dragline doing highway and canal construction. Raymond was tragically killed in a work accident in 1965 and JoAn then returned to school and completed an Associates degree in accounting and worked in that field for many years. JoAn married James Fugate in 1971 they settled on a ranch in Otto, Wyoming. They moved during their retirement to Fort Collins, Colorado and lived also in Thermopolis and Casper, Wyoming. JoAn joined her daughter Charmaine for a five year stint on the east coast living in Tennessee and Washington DC before returning to live near her eldest daughter Kathleen. She resided in Deertrail Colorado for 9 years before moving to assisted living in Limon, Colorado. JoAn was a kind, gentle and loving mother and valued friend to many. Her memory will be cherished by family and the many friends she acquired over the years in her various travels and moves.
